This hand-forged mild steel fireplace surround was created for a client's new concrete loft in Chicago's River North neighborhood, blocks from The Merchandise Mart. The unique design is based upon the offset/assymetrical firebox's location (relative to the wall's width) designed to comply with Tom and Petes' strong aesthetic vision.

The thick visual lines resulting from the thick steel flat bars – creating "fins" – make this a strikingly-elegant statement piece!
